The announced agreement
On July 13, the State Bar announced an agreement with ProctorU, doing business as Meazure Learning, resolving its lawsuit concerning the February 2025 exam administration. The announcement says Meazure agreed to pay $5.25 million and waive an outstanding $1.36 million invoice. The State Bar agreed to dismiss the lawsuit with prejudice after receiving payment under the stated terms.
What applicants should not infer
A settlement payment to the State Bar is not, by itself, an announcement of a new individual payment program for every applicant. The announcement should not be rewritten as a fresh refund deadline or as a determination of any person’s claim. Distinguish the institution’s litigation resolution from instructions addressed to an applicant.
Keep history and current preparation separate
This is part of the continuing 2026 background to California’s exam-administration changes. For an upcoming examination, use that administration’s official vendor, software, and test-day instructions rather than assuming the February 2025 arrangements remain in place. Our suggestion is to keep records of any personal correspondence and use the official channels for questions about your own circumstances. The source link provides the State Bar’s account of the agreement; this article does not offer legal advice about litigation or eligibility for relief.
