A rewrite should isolate and repair a weakness. Recopying the whole answer after reading a selected response can create a polished document without teaching you to make the same decisions on a new question.
When to use this guide: Use this guide to revise one selected section after diagnosis. Use the grader-feedback guide to choose the repair across a complete returned answer.
Choose a bounded target
Select a section where the feedback identifies a meaningful problem. State the intended repair before revising: add a missing requirement, explain contrary facts, improve a heading sequence, or connect a rule to the record. Keep the original passage for comparison.
Revise from the question and feedback
Use the source materials to correct law, but avoid copying another answer's wording. Explain the reasoning in language you can reproduce. If the repair requires more facts, use only facts supplied by the question rather than improving the hypothetical itself.
Follow the rewrite with transfer practice
Write or outline a different question testing the same skill. Familiarity makes the old question easier, so success on it alone does not establish independent improvement. Record whether the target behavior appears before you consult the new answer materials.
Worked example
A bounded rewrite with a stated purpose
A grader identifies a paragraph that states a requirement and a conclusion but never discusses a supplied fact cutting against the result. The rest of the answer has different strengths and weaknesses.
Starting approach
Rewrite the whole essay while copying the selected answer's organization and wording.
A stronger approach
State the target: add and weigh the omitted contrary fact. Rewrite that paragraph using only the original question's facts, verify the rule, and compare the original with the revision. Then outline a different question that requires the same skill.
Why the change matters
The rewrite isolates the change so you can explain what improved. A full-answer rewrite may be appropriate for a structural problem, but it should still have an identified purpose. Do not infer independent mastery merely because an answer looks polished after consulting all reference materials.
Common mistake: Do not improve the hypothetical by inserting facts the exam writer did not supply.

Use the published graded-answer examples to see the relationship between a response and its comments. If a recurring problem remains unclear, personal tutoring can help you discuss a specific passage and choose the next practice task.
Try this in your next session
Rewrite one weak section, then explain in two sentences what changed and why. Complete a fresh outline using the repaired method within a later study session.
